Information Collected Automatically

The website, hosting provider, security tools, analytics services, and advertising partners may automatically process information such as:

• IP address or a hashed representation of an IP address
• Browser, device, and operating-system information
• Approximate location
• Pages visited, referral source, and timestamps
• Cookie, device, and advertising identifiers
• Information used to prevent abuse and enforce usage limits

The Dream Explainer plugin stores hashed usage information for rate limiting and security. Hosting providers, security services, or server logs may process IP addresses separately.

Automated Dream Reflections and DeepSeek

When you submit a dream to the automated reflection tool, the dream title, dream description, selected category, and selected emotion may be transmitted securely to the DeepSeek API.

DeepSeek processes this information to generate an automated response. DeepSeek is a third-party service provider and handles information under its applicable terms and privacy practices.

Do not assume that information submitted to an AI provider is completely private. Avoid including information that is not necessary for receiving a general reflection.

Automated interpretations are educational reflections. They are not religiously authoritative, guaranteed to be accurate, or automatically reviewed by a qualified scholar.

Private Interpretation Review Logs

After a successful automated interpretation, The Dream Explainer stores a private copy of:

• The submitted dream title and description
• The selected category and emotion
• The generated interpretation, symbols, reflections, and reminder
• The submission date
• The associated user-account ID when the user is signed in

These records are stored in the website’s WordPress database. Authorized website administrators may review them for quality control, safety review, troubleshooting, and service improvement.

Interpretation-review records are not published as articles and are not sold as dream content. At present, these logs remain stored until they are administratively deleted.

Optional Personal Dream Journal

Saving a reflection to a personal dream journal is optional and separate from the private interpretation-review log.

A saved journal entry may include the dream text, title, category, emotion, generated reflection, personal notes, favorite status, and creation or update dates. Journal entries are associated with the user’s account, and users can delete individual entries through the journal interface.

Deleting a journal entry does not necessarily delete the separate administrator interpretation-review log created when the interpretation was generated. You may contact us to request deletion of related records.

Waitlist and Email Services

If you join a waitlist or request service updates, your email address may be stored by The Dream Explainer and processed through MailerLite.

MailerLite processes email information under its own terms and privacy practices. You may unsubscribe through the link in an email or by contacting us. Waitlist information is retained until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or the relevant waitlist or service is discontinued.

Advertising and Journey by Mediavine

The Dream Explainer uses Journey by Mediavine to manage advertising. Journey by Mediavine and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to:

• Display and measure advertisements
• Limit how often advertisements appear
• Detect invalid traffic and fraud
• Understand advertising performance
• Provide personalized advertising where permitted and consented to

Advertising partners process information under their own privacy policies. Where available, you can use the website’s consent or privacy controls to manage advertising choices.

The Dream Explainer does not sell or publish submitted dream descriptions. Advertising-related data may, however, be considered “shared” or “sold” under the technical definitions of some privacy laws. • Interpretation-review logs currently remain stored until administrative deletion.
• Personal journal entries remain stored until deleted by the user, removed through an account-deletion process, or administratively deleted.
• Waitlist information remains stored until unsubscribe, deletion request, or termination of the relevant list.
• Usage, security, and rate-limit records remain stored as needed for security and service operation.
• Server and backup copies may remain temporarily after deletion according to the hosting provider’s backup schedule.

We intend to introduce clearer automatic retention controls. This policy will be updated when those controls are operational.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request:

• Access to personal information associated with you
• Correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion of journal, account, waitlist, or interpretation information
• Withdrawal from email communications

For a guest interpretation, we may need limited information such as the approximate submission date, dream title, or category to locate the relevant record. Please do not resend the complete dream description unless it is necessary to identify the record.

We may need to verify that a requester is entitled to access or delete the requested information.

Some service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their privacy protections may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Information may be transferred and processed according to the applicable provider terms and legal safeguards.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect information. However, no website, database, transmission method, or third-party service can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid submitting information that is not necessary for using the dream-reflection tool.

The website is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents or guardians who believe a child has submitted personal information should contact us so the information can be reviewed and, where appropriate, deleted.
